Las Vegas: Britney, Cher, and Mary

Right before we leave for our vacation, I just HAD to go see my girl Britney in Vegas. I've been such a Britney Stan for almost two decades and I've never seen her perform.  So when she announced the end to her Vegas residency, I started looking up flights and tickets. BUT THEN, I saw that Cher was also performing that same weekend...and I booked my flights in a blind rush of gay emotion. To make matters gayer, I asked my Aunt Mary to come along! She's such a star!

I don't talk much about the concerts in the video, so I wanted to expand on my experience. Basically, both shows were amazing. Both did the hits and performed as expected. I was slightly disappointed in the Britney show: most of her choreo was pretty basic and she relied on cheerleader arms a bit tm. But that's to be expected from a Britney show. What I DIDN'T expect was that I would be one of the only people HELLO ARE WE AT THE SAME SHOW LISTENING TO OUR CHILDHOODS? I was thrown; but also sober...which was a huge mistake.  Lastly, there truly wasn't a bad seat in the house; my seat was on the third tier near the front and it was $100; it was just fine.

Now, the CHER show was one of the best shows I've ever seen!!!! The girl is 71, has a body that I'm jealous of, and knows how to put on a show. She sang all the hits: 'Turn Back Time' 'All or Nothing,' and she even pulled out a projection of Sonny and sang 'I Got You Babe' to HER DEAD EX-HUSBAND IN FRONT OF 1000 PEOPLE. #ifuckingconic. She sang every note live, belting out the hard chorus' to 'Strong Enough' and 'Gypsy's, Tramps, and Thieves,' before ending the night with her hardest and most well known hit, 'Believe.' But what blew me away was she sounded just like she does on the recording. And lets talk about the crowd: they skewed older than Britney's but they came ready to party. My conclusion: even if you don't know every inch of her catalog, it is still 100% worth it for the $85 ticket I paid to sit on the third balcony. Next time, I'll pay $150 gladly.

All in all, it was a super fast, two day trip. I spent a lot of time in the pool and my hotel room, opting to stay away from the Strip because I live in New York and I can go to a garish tourist trap whenever I please. I edited the video to reflect that and chose Kesha's 'Hymn' as a backdrop because it was my anthem that weekend!
